The house is quiet. The last group of children has gone to bed. My handsome husband is fast asleep and Rosie has been peeked on and covered up. My to do list is done for the day. What a grand feeling.
I spent today sipping hot tea and putting on pots of coffee. Something brimming with sweetness to warm up our insides seemed appropriate on this icy day.
I am looking forward to this winter. Snow, jingle bells, hats, mittens, warm socks, cinnamon sticks in our tea, soup that warms you up all the way down to your toes. I love everything about this season.
I cannot believe Thanksgiving is coming so soon. I am working at enjoying the holiday we are in instead of jumping ahead to Christmas. I think Thanksgiving is getting booted aside like a Christmas birthday might as the stores are rushing ahead toward gifts, glitter and busyness.
With all our children home this year (or at least nearby) I want to soak up the season I am in. This is the vision God put in my heart before I was even saved. To have a big family.
To have everyone gather together for the holidays. I can still remember what He showed me so long ago. God’s plans are never wrong and I’m so glad He waited so long for me….I was quite stubborn.
Did I tell you that we’ll be taking our family pictures this Thanksgiving? I’m rather excited about them. I’ve been pondering and peeking at different large family photos to gather ideas. I really hope it has snowed a bit by then. That would add a bit of beauty to the background. I’m thinking I’d like one of all of us in our tree in the backyard. The one we always take pictures on.
As for Miss Rosie. Well I have to say she’s doing better. I have taken all her potato flour foods away and she is sleeping about 5-6 hrs at a time, which is a huge improvement. In doing all this I’ve discovered that she is bothered by something else beside gluten, dairy and potato. Isn’t that a fun bit of news?! :-/
I’m not sure what as I’m still testing foods out. I am only feeding her what I know she can tolerate and go from there, introducing one food at a time. She lets me know loud and clear when something is bothering her. Unfortunately it is always in the middle of the night :-/
We’ve pulled our Thanksgiving decorations out and I’ve been visiting with my dtr in love about what our menu will be. It is so nice to have someone to plan with.
We have the traditional foods such as turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, pumpkin pie, (lots) whip cream and rolls. That meal never gets old.
How is everyone doing? Sipping tea or mochas? Fireplace or warm blanket? Snow yet? Or are you enjoying the warm sunshine in your part of the world?
Well my clock is telling me it’s past my bedtime and my eyes are agreeing.
* Happy Fall *

Cinnamon,
ReplyDeleteYes, we have been sipping warm things here too. Coffee and hot chocolate. There were a few snow flurries yesterday and my daughter was so excited. I hope you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving together. Our menu is very close to yours and it never gets old.
In Christ,
Tami
Hello sweet friend....
ReplyDeleteI'm missing you and perhaps, we should have a cup or 2 of tea...together?! Thanksgiving, oh how I have thought about your family and Thanksgiving! Maybe a thought of you all here or us there...we could take your family picture, and you ours! Nice thought :)
I have a letter, it just hasn't gotten in the mail...so sorry. Tomorrow, then it would be there by Thanksgiving. That's the plan...be looking between now, and then. Mean while know that you are in my prayers daily.
Hugs and rest,
Laura

Just catching up with your blog :) In my quest to find out the foods that bother me, I've had to remove the entire nightshade family, which includes potatoes, eggplant, tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, tomatillos, tamarios, pepinos, pimentos, paprika, and cayenne. This is an interesting article about it. In addition to my entire list of foods I tested positive to, I also had to eliminate the nightshade family and all corn products before I finally felt like I got everything. Hope you figure it out for your little one soon!
