“How old are you Mama?” four year old Granton asks me.
I hold up four fingers as his eyes open wide.
“I am two of these” I say.
“You mean you’re just like me?” he says as he holds up his four fingers.
“Yes, I’m just like you” :-)
Today I am 44 yrs old and I love it!
Some people would like to relive their 20’s. Not me.
Some would like to stay 29. Not me.
I like me right where I am.
So what did I do for my birthday? I put my feet up and sat on my bed, cozied up in my new jacket my Mom sent me. I leisurely strolled through each page of a new magazine. I opened up my Christmas present and loaded pictures onto my digital photo frame. Love that!
I juiced. Grace and I have been juicing together. I love having someone to do this with. She has been juicing longer than I and is encouraging me by her example..
Two little dumplings came over and said “Happy Birthday Nana!”
We ate cake. A yummy, made by my daughter in love, cherry frosting cake. YUM! Nothing says ♥ like lots of frosting :-)
This morning:
I awoke to kisses in bed by little angels that just happen to live in our house :-)
Candy canes decorated the table. Hot Ginger/Cinnamon tea awaited me. Gifts piled up and cards ready to be opened.
Cards wishing me happiness and joy.
Handmade gifts
Handmade from my mother-in-law
A restored gift.
I have had “pooch” since I was 10 or so. He was a gift from my Aunt Nancy. He use to travel with John and I in our vehicle when we were first married. Eventually he lost an ear, got a tear in his side and was put in the basement.
John found him and asked Gladys to restore him. He is still missing an ear. He is as loved as ever and now sits in the chair in our room or snuggles in bed with a little one.
Treasures given to me with “you can keep this forever and ever” attached to the end of it.
Gladys made me the cute little purse. Gianna gave me her sweet picture. Granton gave me his stuffie “bite-y” with the assurance that he does not bite.
I am spoiled with love.
Thank you to my husband, who has been sick all week with a terrible ear infection, for filling up these children with so much love that it just spills out onto me.

Happy double four to one of my dearest most missed friends! I promise that you don't look a day older than when I met you and I still look up to you, am encouraged by you, and just love you!! I'm so glad that, let's see here, about 16 years ago (wow!!), the Lord brought you into my life! It has been just the bestest to know you, know your children, watch them grow, and am just thankful for all you have taught me through your words and life.
ReplyDeleteWe have practically the same birthday....I was born on a 24th in a month that starts with a J. :) I'll be 40 in June and year ago use to think I'd be so wise and mature by then...I'm losing hope in that, but still LOVE life and have just as much (maybe more) fun than I did when I was younger. :)
Happy, Happy birthday!!
love and miss you oodles!!

Glad you had a great day! Man; did I leave you out of my New Years newsletter? As I turned 40 last year, I put down a lot of similar things that you shared. Anyway, I'll send that to you, and hope you have a great day today and every day! God bless.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading your newsletter :-)
DeleteHappy Birthday Cinnamon. You are beautiful inside and out. You don't need to be 29, because you are perfect at 44. Your family is very precious.... thank you Jesus for our precious families who love us so much. Hope this year is a special one for you. Love the little "Pooch"... I have a Bear; he's in storage. The juicing looks good. We got our juicer out this week, and are back at it again too. We do it
ReplyDeleteat different times throughout the year. I would like to say that we do it every day, but I can't manage to keep it up like that. But It is a great way to cleanse and bless our bodies isn't it?
Love and Blessings,
Pam
You are so kind :-) I would love to meet you in person. Perhaps, some day God will orchestrate that.
DeleteJuicing is A LOT of work that's for sure. All that peeling/cleaning up/chopping/buying the fruit/veggies/budgeting....some days I'd love to have a Jamba Juice close by :-)
Thank you for visiting. It's always so good to hear from you.
Happy Birthday, beautiful Cinnamon!
