Lots! Normally what *I* want to do and what my husband wants to do are widely different. But as we grow closer to one another we find that we really do have common ground.
Every year I think about the year that has just past. What did I do? What did I enjoy? What blessed us as a family? What do I want to incorporate into our life? What do I need to work on? What needs to change?
As it would be God had been whispering to me for some months, as last year I prayed for one thing specifically, “draw us as a family and individually closer to YOU” ♥
He heard me and has been stirring much around in my heart.
One area He is drawing me to is being with Him for no other reason than to sit by His side and listen. I love to do that with my husband. Sitting and listening to him talk with me about our lives and share with me his hopes and dreams. John blesses me so much. That’s what I felt God was wanting me to do with Him….sit with Him….with a quiet spirit.
Another area was to start doing some Bible Studying. I have started “A Time To Seek God” and I am enjoying it immensely.
I did make a list last week, that is four pages long, about all the things I wanted to do this coming year.
Things that I enjoy like using these more:
And trying these out:
Trying out four new hairstyles:
My Pinterest board has some short styles too. I’m keeping my hair long for now :-)
Write in these a bit more:
Nuture our marriage with more of this:
This year we will be married 26 yrs. Only by God’s grace ♥
Keep learning about this handsome man and what he enjoys.
Take healthy eating to the next level for our family:
There are so many more things I would love to accomplish and I’m encouraged about asking God for His strength and discipline to get it all done.
One more thing I’d like to get done is to lose ten pounds. Yes I’d love to lose more than that but I’m starting there. I am basically the same place I was last year. I don’t like that. Although I’m healthier and my body is healing well from working through food allergies I still need a bit of a push to get beyond where I am at.
So there you have it. Me in a nutshell. Or just me, the nut ;-)
I am so glad you stopped by for a visit. It’s always so nice to take a moment to read the sweet words you have left here. Care to share what you are looking forward to this year?
~Cinnamon
p.s. Rosie is all better and no one else (yet) has come down with any illness. We have a few runny noses and sore throats but that’s it! Praise the Lord!! Thank you for all your prayers~
I like your goals!! I'd love to know what you do with the notebooks for your children. Do you write letters to them? Glad you all are feeling better. We're still fighting yuckies here. I finally gave in an started an antibiotic this morning. I hate taking them, especially when I'm pregnant, but when the cough sounds like it's moving to the lungs and nothing seems to be getting better, I'll take the antibiotic. It beats ending up in the hospital with pneumonia!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to take Antibiotics but needing to. That's the great part of choice, they are there when you need them :-)
DeleteIf you click on the link above the notebooks I talk a bit more in detail about what I write. Basically I jot down things about each child or how they have been a blessing to me.
Hope you are feeling better soon. Thanks for stopping by.
Excellent list! I am with you on many of those. I need to loose ten pounds also. I am off to a good start with exercising each day. Just that makes me feel so much stronger and healthier. I am glad Rosie is better.
ReplyDeleteHello "M" ~ You do not need to lose anything. I think you look great!! But exercising does make you feel better doesn't it?!
DeleteThanks for visiting~
Cinnamon,
ReplyDeleteYour heart felt list is so nice, I loved reading it. I have sat long and hard thinking about last year and looking at my list from last year. WOW, I only completed 4 of the things on 2012 list...sad! But the truth be told my list was very self driven, as in little was of the Lord on what to be on the list. I now see what was on the list that was accomplished, well, those are the things that the Lord wanted for me/us. So, this year I have sat and prayed and am seeking to have His list...not my own ;) So sweet friend I'm going to be praying for you and your list, as I pray for mine. Oh, and I think you look great, just like you are...such a natural pretty!
So, happy to hear Rosie is getting better...is she sleeping better too? We are still in the thick of sickness with Mary Ann, but at least she sleeps.
Hope your day is going super! Tell the "G" force we said HI from Tennessee!!!
Hugs~
Laura
You bless me Laura~
DeleteSuch a lovely post my friend! Yes, the New Year is a good time to reflect and look forward. You are one ambitious lady! Your family is blessed to have you caring for them!! I'm with you on the ten pounds....want to be encouragement partners?? :) And...your writing on the wall is beautiful. May the LORD bless you each in this coming year as you seek to follow HIM!!
ReplyDeleteWith Love,

Hi Cinnamon ~ Sounds like a GREAT list for 2013! :) It has inspired me to make a list for myself...good idea, good idea!! I'm thinking, though, some of the things on my 2013 list have been on my mental to-do list for years...heehee...maybe if I write them down, I will finally get them done THIS YEAR, 2013! :))
ReplyDeleteThank you for the encouragement...
Love, SueBee
