Sweetness~

A birthday package to be opened, just waiting for me, when I arrived home from grocery shopping. I love getting surprise packages. who doesn’t?

The tea is wonderful with such a beautiful tin to save after the tea is all sipped up.

A handmade shawl and a Bible Study. Funny when I wrote my list of to do’s at the beginning of the year, having a personal bible study was on that list. I wondered what I would read. I only had one book – the one I’m currently reading A Time To Seek God by Francis Frangipane. I remember thinking to myself just work through this one and let God take care of the next one. So to receive this book was an extra special treat to me. Thank you sweet Mayo’s. You bless me!

Want to know what I’ve been doing all day?

Today I made my Mama’s Red Raspberry Tea. I have been out of it for a long time. I found some today tucked away deep in my freezer. I was so happy to find it. It nourishes my body with lots of calcium which I can tell I really need (my back hurts).

I cooked a Turkey. Tomorrow, after it has cooled, the girls and I had will remove all the meat and store it in freezer bags for meals later in the month.

I mixed up my first batch of homemade shampoo. I’m quite excited. Does anyone else make their own shampoo? How do you like it? Care to share your recipe?

I made Homemade Vanilla Creamer. Oh I cannot wait to try it out in the morning :-)

I read The Princess and the Kiss to Granton this evening. He loves a story before bed. Tonight we read two :-)

These projects have been on my to do list for weeks. They just happened to all get done today. Crossing off my list of things to do always feels good :-)

Want to see what Gracie was up to tonight?

Isn’t that beautiful?! I think she is going to be braiding little girls hair soon. Maybe even mine. I love her energy and creativity. She said it was really easy and only took 962 bobby bins to hold it in :-) haha!

So glad you stopped by for a visit.

  2. I love all precious glimpses into your family; it is so cozy. I haven't ever made my own shampoo (I will check out your link when I' m done), but I have tried the baking soda method, and I liked that really well; and also, just yesterday made my own tooth paste, which my daughter told me about, and I gave it a try;so far we are liking it; I've also made laundry detergent several times and that was fun (might post on it another time). I love the idea of vanilla creamer. I can't wait to look into your link and give it a try.

Gracie's hair looks beautiful. She got the knack for sure. I think my arms would get tired (I know, I 'm a wuss, I would love to have my hair done by someone on a regular basis). Tell Rosie I am delighted to share her birthday. She is a precious birthday partner. Happy Birthday To Rosie on Sunday.

  3. Oh how lovely! What a sweet, sweet surprise. Isn't it humbling when we receive such thoughtful gifts? Your family is beautiful! You are too! Just love the serenity in these photos. I was just telling my husband one of the perks of blogging is being able to "fellowship" in a way and peek into the lives of other moms who have similar convictions and just love, love, love their families and homes. I'm glad to see all is well, I'll have to come back and catch up a bit soon.

You take care now, I'm glad to see all is well! : ) ~Amelia
